14 February 2003

I had a satisfying appointment with a Physical Therapist yesterday - the price is right too - only a $10.00 co-pay. I thought it interesting when she remarked that it felt as though my first cervical spine in rotated. This is what the chiropractor told me. She thinks she can help me. Anyway, I have a simple exercise to do several times a day, instructions about work hygiene relative to posture and chair height, and another appointment. Next week, she is going to apply heat..........I'm secretly hoping for massage, too. Got the bill for that useless cervical collar - only $52.00 which is much less than I had anticipated.

The path of my weekend is plotted. The mid-term in Human Resources Management looms on Thursday and, though I've attended every class, I haven't really done much studying. Since I have a patient follow-up on both Saturday and Sunday, I'll probably study at my work-desk for several hours each day. I've found it difficult to resist the attraction of whiling away the time with on-line solitaire games...................I might just treat myself to the movies.

I saw Antoine ...........something or other - can't remember the title - Antoine Fisher, I think. It was a lovely move with Denzel Washington who also debuted as the director. Anyway, the film was poignant, well done, and was actually written by the title person. It was also about the Navy which interested me. One Hour Photo and Mostly Martha are both out on video. They are probably already rented out by now.

I have high aspirations of doing both laundry, house-cleaning and, yes, tread-milling. Let's see what the next entry says.

I think the movie is Antwone Fisher. I haven't seen it yet but have also heard good things about it. So far, pretty much anything Denzel Washington has been in has been worth spending time on. Have you seen Training Day?

Dale and I watched M. Night Shaymalan's Signs this evening; I'd seen it but he had not. I cried through lots of it (all the parenting scenes). We both enjoyed it, and particularly we also enjoyed the extra things on the DVD. I do love DVDs! It's so cool to see all that behind-the-scenes stuff and get inside the director's head. Such a complex way of thinking.

Glad the physical therapist sounds good--Dale has been seeing one for the last year and a half or so for various things, and he's facilitated amazing results (helped Dale rebuild the cartilage in his knees, for one). Good luck, and do whatever exercise s/he proposes faithfully.

Physical therapy sounds much more reasonable than the chiropractor. I hope it works out for you. It's amazing how a few minor adjustments to your work setup will improve how you feel at the end of a long day.

I often dream that I would work out more often if I had the equipment set up here at home. Mostly I know that I'm just fooling myself and more than likely the equipment would end up as a clothes horse. I really need to start planning my workouts again, otherwise I end up just walking and talking at the park. Which is healthy exercise, but not so good for maintaining the matabolism and improving my overall fitness for the upcoming Tri season.

I was going to ask my chiropractor what the point is in having a new xray on each visit. I am curious about this, so I will ask him anyway.
