Just about all I ever write about is the cleaning of, the not cleaning of, or the critical need to perform the cleaning of my little apartment. This is true once again as I prepare for the visits of Patrick and Cynthia this upcoming weekend. What gets done will get done on Friday before I pick up Cynthia and Patrick at their various arrival locations in late afternoon. We are going to the Lyric Opera on Saturday - The Magic Flute by Mozart.
While I have been busy not cleaning the house, I have been at the movies. Since the beginning of the year, Noel (Virgil's youngest child at age 19) and I have traipsed all over the Chicagoland area in search of cinematic entertainment. One Sunday afternoon, we saw Walk The Line, Siriana and The Chronicles of Narnia. It was my second viewing of Chronicles and it was just as entertaining the second time. It is a visually stunning movie. WTL was pretty good, too. Siriana was awful - full of disconnected characters and actions. I think that the picture would have been improved with narration... such as in The Shawshank Redemption. I kept saying to Noel, "I don't know what is going on!"
Last weekend was excellent. We went to see Casanova and Memoirs of a Geisha.....both movies were worth the see.
