Shaving, Starving, and Sleeping

So yea, I don’t really know what to talk about right now, but the only thing I know is that I want to blog right now. Granted, I should be going to bed, seeing how it is almost 1 o clock in the morning, and I have a 9:10 class, but ho, that does not matter now. The enjoyment that I am receiving right now is much more valuable than sleep. Or, at least right now it is. Anyways, I have noticed I have gained a very much more relaxed look on life and society. For example, and the only example that I can think of right now, I haven’t shaved my legs in about 3-4 weeks. And yes, if you think about it, that’s really really gross. I am even disgusted with it, but I don’t do anything about it. There’s really no point. I mean, I am a blonde…you can’t see it at all, except when it glares in the sun. But I plan on shaving this weekend. Seriously. And no one has rudely inquired about it, but if they did, I always would have an alibi of that i was on the Texas A&M University Women Swim Team. And they would believe me. Wow, I find that great! In college, it’s so easy to be someone fake. No one knows you, so you are “entitled” to be any one that you want to be. Granted, we all know who we really are, but still, it’s your choice to fake or not to fake who you are. I know who I am, do you?

Haha…I ended that segment as a rhetorical question. Yay for sophomore English! :) Boy, I am really hungry right now, and nothing’s open for me to eat. I do have bread in my room, but that’s about it. So, I think I’m just going to starve at the moment. But that reminds me that I need to go to bed. hopefully, I will be able to sleep because right now…I am hyper. (i guess I shouldn’t have taken that nap today). So, I will think of happy, sleepy thought….like the Sandman and sheep. Mmm…sheep…night night

Was that "mmm...sheep" like "mmm...mutton" or was it "mmm...sheep" like "one sheep, two sheep"?

Also, you should come up with different group to excuse your hairly legs. Most competitive swimmers shave as much as possible to cut down on drag. And I say, don't shave if you don't want to. I know lots of people with hairly legs (not a one of them is blonde) and as long as your not modeling socks or the latest in high heel fashions, who really cares? During the winter, I'll go 3-4 months without shaving. Stepan calls me his little yetti :-)

I normally stop shaving on Labor Day and do not resume til Memorial Day. I used to know a priest that started growing his facial hair at Thanksgiving and shaved it off at Easter.

Didn't you shave your arms one time when you were little and on the swim team? How do you know the "someone fake" is not the "real you"? I also go extended periods without shaving my legs - I think of myself as European since lots of European women think it is a silly American custom.

I'm sure that I'm not the only one that doesn't shave. Yay! And to Jenny, I used the swimming exuse because usually (in high school at least) they would not shave for the LONGEST TIME and then, when the "important" meet was there, they would shave the night before. That's what I'm doing, except I'm not sure when my "important meet" is. (ha...i don't have one). Hope I could clear things up. And it's not mutton...it was sheep jumping over fences

Although I have learned more about my relatives' hairy conditions and preferences than I ever wanted to know, I feel compelled to share my own practices. I am a sporadic shaver, not on any real schedule, and don't mind going running or bicycling with hairy legs. I don't think anyone really notices. I do, however, insist on shaving whenever I have an opportunity to "get dressed up" --- I feel pretty! I could live in Europe, but I could never be a European, even though Rita did notice I was cultivating a single underarm hair that I had been missing. It's now gone.

The day will come, Courtney, when there will be no hair on your legs to shave.......in about 45 or so years. There! I just gave you something to look forward to!
