This was the only way I could get this to post. Why wouldn't it work using the comment section??

I tried to use my name and e-mail to post it. It appears the comment posting section of our site is getting a little buggy.
I am sorry about your puppy but think that you did the right thing in finding a new home for her. And it's great news about Kevin's budding independent contractor status. Best of luck and lots of revenue are my wishes. I also wish that I had the time to check your cooking links before Cynthia's visit - trying to make up for that ubiquitous, though absolutely delicious lasagna - thank you, Elizabeth! I never realized my spelling error. As it is, I have a creatively (meaning from no recipe) prepared chicken dish in the freezer that has been waiting for Cynthia for the past three weeks.
I've really been amiss lately posting blog entries on a regular schedule. So, I have numerous subjects to touch upon, hence the above title.
I guess I should start where I left off with the New Addition. Unfortunately, Shandi is no longer part of the family. All of us worked on trying to get Shelbi and Shandi to bond. Shandi wasn't the problem, Shelbi kept running from Shandi anytime she came too near. Shelbi's personality also was changing, and not for the better. To me, she appeared depressed, wouldn't play with us like she used to and we finally decided we had to give her up to a new owner. Lucky for us, Ashley's best friends' Aunt wanted to buy her. I'm so relieved I didn't get too attached. I wouldn't have been able to sell her if I had!
Kevin outgrew the workshop we had installed in the backyard. I found a space for rent in downtown Wichita Falls. The building has four separate spaces with each space equaling 5000 sq. ft. When I first went to see if it would be suitable, the actual space was 10,000 sq. ft. I told the manager of the building that we didn't need that much space. Evidently, the previous renter used the space for a 24 hour shipping operation and their forklifts had knocked down the dividing sheetrock wall. Luckily, the manager said the owner would be willing to rebuild the dividing wall. Besides the 5000 sq. ft. workshop space, it also includes three offices, a breakroom, and two bathrooms. I thought for sure it would be way to expensive to rent, but when the manager said $600 a month with a $200 deposit I thought it was a steal. It took about 10 pickup loads to move everything, but it is finally done!
It really wouldn't be fair to mention my birthday first without mentioning Elizabeth's birthday. Happy belated (very, very belated birthday) Elizabeth! I was happy to see your received a slow cooker. They are a must have in every kitchen especially since they are such a time saver and make wonderful, tasty dishes without feeling like you slaved over the stove to prepare it. I also received a kitchen appliance that I requested for my birthday, a white Kitchen Aid Artisan 5 qt. stand mixer. So far, I've only used it to make mashed potatos, but I've been to my favorite recipe site online the past three evenings collecting recipes to try. All the cooks in the family must check out this site. It includes an online recipe box that can categorize recipes, shopping list, notes for recipes. My favorite part about the site is each recipe is rated 1 to 5 stars with reviews. The reviews have been immensely helpful. For example, some of the reviewers will make changes that will actually improve the recipe, or they will state problems they have had with the origional directions. The site also has a great search engine. You can search for a recipe by ingredients, preparation time, recipe name, or if you know someone who has submitted their recipe you can look it up by their name. Just for the fun of it I'm including this link to other recipe sites. I hope you enjoy them. I know that Margaret enjoys the Epicurious site which you will find on the latter link.
