Happy Birthday, birthday!

I attended two birthday celebrations, one on Saturday with Rita and Margaret to celebrate Mother's 89th and one this evening to celebrate Kevin's Aunt Joyce's birthday. She turned 71 today. Hard to believe that Mother and Kevin's Aunt were born on the same day!

We had Rita's wonderful Goulash with Pillsbury ready to bake, frozen, flaky rolls. Afterward we celebrated with a huge, and I do mean huge (half a sheet) half chocolate, half white cake Matthew had ordered.

This evening we went to Dorothy's house (Joyce's sister) for a wonderful potluck dinner and homemade Italian Cream cake. We also drew names for Christmas after dinner.

I drove over to Mother's after Joyce's party ended to wish her a happy 89th in person. I also had to listen to Mother's other birthday gift she received on Saturday. Mother received a talking indoor outdoor thermometer from Matthew's friend Patty. Anyhow, shortly after I arrived the thermometer went into its spill..."Good Evening, the outdoor temperature is 80 degrees fahrenheit, the indoor temperature is 79.6 degrees fahrenheit. It was okay to hear one time, but the damned thing wouldn't shut up. It continued to repeat this information over and over, for at least six times. Finally, blessed silence. Matthew arrived shortly later and fixed it so it wouldn't make announcements in auto mode. I also listened to Mother's new wireless headphones from Kathleen, Rita, and Margaret. They sounded pretty good. Oh, just in case anyone is wondering, there are eleven good size pieces of cake left. I'm sure Mother would be more than HAPPY to package and send them on to whoever would want a piece.
