Rita...This is For Your Eyes

If you read my comment in your blog referring to Jenny's pregnancy, then you really need to read this one as well. I also wanted to thank you for commenting on my TV picture posted in My Gallery, and thank you Stepan for the comment on my snow pictures. It is really nice to know all my work in posting isn't for naught.

Lets Take a Vote

I've added more pictures to My Gallery. We are having a 16' x 24' workshop built in the backyard. All day long I've been unobtrusively peeking out between the blinds to watch their progress. I'm sure they loved me coming out and taking pictures while they worked.

Anyhow, I was uploading these latest pictures and thought, wouldn't it be fun to have a photo contest? To make it fair we would have to take pictures of the same category...people, animals, plants, scenery etc...

Once a category is decided upon by vote we can take our pictures, upload them to our galleries, and then use the rating tool already installed on the site.

Well? What are your thoughts on this idea? If anyone has more ideas on this subject post them in your comments. So, lets take a vote!

New Discovery

I made a new discovery while surfing around the Karl Hubhome last night. I was checking out the forum and noticed we now have a photo gallery. I quickly snapped some pictures of the work in progress of our kitchen and and the new addition to our entertainment in the living room. I truly think the pictures posted of our snowfall in February a major improvement to the scenery in our neighborhood.

It was a major headache uploading the pictures for the first time. It was definitely a learning experience through the night to accomplish the task. I feel like I'm a pro now. The lowest resolution my camera setting would take pictures was 896 x 600. I didn't have any software installed to resize the pictures. It took me awhile to locate my Sierra Imaging install CD and install the program. Then, I had to figure out how to move the pictures from one program to another and resize each picture one at a time. As I resized each picture I saved them as Kitchen1, Kitchen2 etc... I thought I was all set for uploading, but with my ineptitude rearing its ugly head I forgot to give the Kitchen pictures an album name. I'm sure it took me close to an hour to get that problem straightened out and I still had to upload them all to the Gallery. I also wasn't sure if they could be uploaded in a batch, so I ended up loading them one at a time. Like I've already stated before it was a true learning experience and I'm sure the next batch of pictures I upload will only take a fraction of the time.

I still need to take pictures of the almost complete front bathroom and the backyard workshop (to be installed this coming Friday).

After the kitchen is completely done I will take more pictures. We still have the L shaped lower cabinet to rip out and build, all the lower doors and a few of the uppers, ripping off the rest of the old wallpaper and repaper, and last but not least repaint all of the trim and ceiling...phew!!
