Kevin, Jer, and I made it down to Possum Kingdom to visit with Tim, Felicia, and Kat. We did get a late start and didn't make it down there until 3:30pm. Jer attempted six or seven tries on getting up on skis without any luck. Time to get out the knee board. Jer and Kevin both did fine on it. Then it was my turn. I wanted to water ski since I had never used a knee board before. Lucky me! I got up on the 3rd try. I thought that was pretty good since I hadn't skied in at least 20 years! Felicia was next and got on the knee board. She even did some tricks for us! She turned some 360's and went back and forth over the wake from the boat. After that Jer wanted to do the knee board again. He tried to go over the wake this time and wiped out. It was so funny! Its like he was trying to attack it or something.
By this time it was going on 6:30. Time to head in and think about fixing some chow. While Tim got the grill going for some kick *ss bratwurst, chicken, and ribs, Felicia and I got in the truck to make a beer run. Felicia drove to this drive thru place that had recently opened. The kid running it didn't look any older than 16 and Felicia asked him if he was old enough to be selling alcohol. :) The kid had the nerve to reply, "Are you old enough to buy? I need to see your id." After whipping out my id we got our goods (Coronas, Delsekis-sp?, and Dr. Peppers. By that time the food was cooked and it was scruptious! We all kicked back with a beer and started watching a movie on TV. Bird On a Wire with Mel Gibson and Goldie Hawn. I had seen it before, but any movie with Mel Gibson in it is worth watching more than once.
Kevin had to go out to the truck to retrieve something and I stepped out on the porch for a smoke. I was guessing that the time was 9:30 (I had lost my velcro, waterproof watch in the lake sking) and Kevin said it was 10:15!! We made a mad dash to gather things up to get back on the road. Jer and I followed Kevin on the way back to Burk. He made a wrong turn off of 16. Instead of taking 281 he turned onto 380 heading east. We ended up going all the way to Jacksboro before hitting 281. We could see lightning off in the distance. I was hoping that we could make it to the house before the storm hit. No such luck!! We were only eight miles from the house when the sky opened up and visibility was so poor I had to drop my speed from 75mph to 50! I'm just thankful it didn't hail.
