Spaghetti Sauce

2 yellow onions, diced
6 large garlic cloves, chopped
olive oil (about 3-4 tablespoons)
1.5 lbs extra-lean ground beef
.5 lb mild Italian sausage, casings removed
6 cans tomato sauce
2 cans tomato paste
1 can red wine
1 tablespoons sugar
2 bay leaves
Italian seasoning (about 1/4 cup)
1 bunch parsley, minced
salt to taste

Brown ground beef and Italian sausage in a pan; drain fat.

In a saucier or Dutch oven, heat the olive oil and saute the onion and garlic. Add browned beef and sausage, then remaining ingredients. Stir to mix well, and simmer very slowly for three hours. Remove bay leaves before serving.
