Work, Swimming, PCAT

Let’s see. WHAT IS NEW?

I joined Rice Masters Swimming, which I absolutely love. I don’t know if it’s a) because I’m around people who like to do the same things I do b) it has a definite time which I have to put into my iCal and planner…which means that I don’t feel guilty for exercising when I should be studying. I swim down at the UT Auxillary Recreation Center in the Texas Medical Center on MWF in the afternoon, and at Rice University on TRS (that’s Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday) in WAY too early in the morning. I haven’t (because of school and finals) gone to the early practice yet, but once I am finished with this semester, I am going to become consumed in it. The people (although older and much older) are very neat and fun and better than I. At least, I’m not in the slowest lane, and considering this is my first time to start pacing and doing long(er) sets, I’m doing pretty well. I think in about 3 weeks, I’ll be able to move up a lane!

Yes, I am still planning on being a Swim Angel for the Danskin Triathlon again. I absolutely love doing this. There are so many reasons why, and I consider it nonessential to list them. You can probably figure some of them out.

I can not wait for the summer time. I will be working (probably full time and maybe travelling), studying for the PCAT which is coming up WAY TOO SOON, swimming ( and its associated events), and having fun. The having fun part is what I’m looking the most forward to . This past semester I definitely learned how to structure myself more (i.e. better time management skills). So now, with working about 25-30 hours/week and going to school and swimming about 2 hours a day, I still make sure I have fun! My fun is the most important out of all of these, and although my social circle is not as big as it used to be at A&M, I think I have to say that this semester has been one of my best. I can only see it getting better as well.

Also, I think that college should be a requirement for everyone’s life. It is probably one of the best times of life (according to some), and you really learn a lot about yourself before you get into the real world. I am in the middle of both. College AND Real World. It’s weird. When I’m in class (ie. college), I don’t have to be as proper and politically correct (i.e. real world). SO WEIRD to me.

Summer Now!

So school is over for the time being. This is a wonderful thing.

So far, I ended up with A’s, but all my grades have yet to released. I thought it was cool though in one of my classes, I actually got a 100.

To sum it up, I have now been: working, studying, and swimming. I still work at GAC-RUR (as a part time employee), studying the PCAT (which has a 800 page review book for pharmacy school admissions, *sigh*), and swimming (still with Rice Masters). I really like the structure this summer. It’s structured enough so that I get enough done, but it’s relaxed enough that I still can have a bunch of 21-year old fun. (haha. whatever that means).

I’ve already gone to the Astro’s game this summer season. So I can check that off my list. I’ve semi laid out in the sun too. Or at least worn a non-Speedoish bathing suit. (read: sexy bikini). lol :) Another check. I’m going up North for a couple days too. That should be fun. I still need/want to go the river and maybe even Schlitterbahn for a weekend. Just need to find the time.

Well, what am I doing here? I should be laying out in the sun!
