She always amazes me that amount of which she still knows and the passion of which she displays it.
Today, Theresa, my mom, and Granny were sitting around the dining room table eating breakfast, and the discussion came up about how/where people wanted to be buried. John wants my mom to be buried in Colorado, side by side. My mom doesn’t want that,etc etc.
Cremation, pine boxes, et.al. were all discussed.
Then Granma, just beautifully recites this poem, “Don’t Weep for Me” as such…
“Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room,
I am the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there. I do not die.”
I was amazed. She has so much knowledge, wisdom, and more than I can even fathom right now…it’s very powerful. Words cannot express the beauty of it.
I hope that I will be able to recite poems like this to my grandkids at her age…and not some rap song lyrics that Ludacris wrote.

Mom amazes me everytime I am with her. I know that poem, I have a copy of it courtesy of Ms Kitty Lou Karl. And I really like the message contained within. Good blog!
